About Hari Rai Temple

Shri Hari Rai Temple is an historical temple of Chamba, situated subsequent to Chaugan Gate in Chamba. Built in stone, this temple is designed in shikhara style and many tourists visit right here to worship Lord Vishnu who has three faces-human, lion and boar, made from eight extraordinary substances.

The predominant idol is artistically decorated with finger-jewelry, armlets, mukut, necklaces and kundals. It dates returned to the 11th century and turned into constructed by Salabahana. The temple rests inside the north-west corner of the primary Chaugan, which is now taken into consideration as the reliable front to the city. The finely carved Shikharas and the beautiful sculpture of Vishnu ranging six horses offer a fascinating view. There are diverse niches in Hari Rai Temple that undertaking Brahmanical deities along with Shiva seated on a bull with Uma seated to his left.
